About IB Biology SL

At Oakridge, biology is one of the three SL courses that students take as part of the IB program. In this course, you explore the complexity of living systems, from the molecular level to ecosystems, by studying key biological concepts, processes, and interactions. You gain a deeper understanding of the structure and function of organisms, evolution, genetics, and the impact of human activity on the natural world. Through practical work and investigations, you also develop essential scientific skills in experimentation, data collection, and analysis, helping you connect your learning with the complex biological world around you.
